Η Δρ. Σταυρούλα Τσιπλάκου σπούδασε Φιλολογία στην Αθήνα και Θεωρητική Γλωσσολογία στα Πανεπιστήμια του Cambridge και του Λονδίνου. Έχει διδάξει στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Hull, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Simon Fraser και στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Από το 2010 είναι Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια Γλωσσολογίας στο Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου.

Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα επικεντρώνονται στην πραγματολογία, την κειμενογλωσσολογία και τη γλωσσική ποικιλότητα, αλλά και στη διδακτική του γλωσσικού μαθήματος.

Άρθρα της Δρος Τσιπλάκου έχουν δημοσιευτεί στα επιστημονικά περιοδικά Lingua, Linguistic Inquiry, Pragmatics, Journal of Pragmatics, Multilingua, Current Issues in Language Planning κ.ά. και έχει εκδώσει τους τόμους: Scientia Paedagogica Experimentalis - International Journal of Experimental Research in Education XLV.1: Current Issues in Educational Linguistics; Language Variation: European Perspectives ΙΙ; Intermediate Language Varieties. Koinai and Regional Standards in Europe. Έχει συμμετάσχει στην εκπόνηση των Προγραμμάτων Σπουδών για τη Γλώσσα στη Δημοτική και Μέση Εκπαίδευση στην Κύπρο και στην Ελλάδα. Στο πλαίσιο των ενδιαφερόντων της για τη δίγλωσση/πολύγλωσση εκπαίδευση, συμμετέχει στην ομάδα  Πολύδρομο.

SHORT VITA

Stavroula  Tsiplakou  is  Associate  Professor   of Linguistics and Academic Coordinator of the M.A. Programme in Greek Linguistics and Literature at the Open University of Cyprus. She holds a B.A. in Greek Literature from the University of Athens, an M.Phil. in Linguistics from  the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

Prior to her appointment at the Open University of Cyprus in 2010 she taught at the University of Hull, at Simon Fraser University and at the University of Cyprus. Her research areas include pragmatics, sociolinguistics and educational linguistics.

She has published in Linguistic Inquiry, Pragmatics,  Journal of Pragmatics, Multilingua, Current Issues in Language Planning. She has edited Scientia Paedagogica Experimentalis - International Journal of Experimental Research in Education XLV.1: Current Issues in Educational Linguistics and Language Variation: European Perspectives ΙΙ. She has co-authored the national curricula for language in Cyprus and in Greece, and she has produced digital platforms for teaching Greek as a second language. She is a member of Polydromo, an academic and action group for multilingual education.
