The mission of the School of Economics and Management (SOED) is to offer contemporary and innovative academic programs and to promote scientific research through the production of new knowledge in the broad areas of economics and management. The academic programs of SOED provide our students with critical analytical skills and values in order to pursue a successful career in the private and public sectors.
The Faculty already has a significant local and European presence, having systematically cultivated, at postgraduate level, the sciences of management and economics. The combination of the theory of science with the professional practice, leads to a high level of results, which, in addition to the academic recognition, value these scientific fields in the society. Particular attention is paid to the fact of the globalization of economic and productive developments, which is reflected in the content of studies in all educational programmes provided.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
The offered Doctoral Programmes of the Faculty of Economics and Management, for the academic year 2024-2025 (spring semester) are:

The minimum time required to complete the doctorate is three (3) years, while the maximum duration is eight (8) years.

The minimum requirement for admission to the doctoral programme of the Faculty of Economics and Management is a postgraduate degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution, related or similar to the research areas listed above.

Tuition fees for doctoral programs amounts to €675 per semester for the first six (6) semesters. In case the study lasts longer, then the following applies: for the first five (5) and the last semester, the cost amounts to €675 per semester and for the remaining semesters, the cost amounts to €100 per semester. No tuition is paid for the "Academic Writing (DXXX796)" and the "Research Methodology (DXXXX795)", which are mandatory at the beginning of the study.
OUC's Institutional/Digital Repository "Kypseli" is a WEB designed portal which hosts the Intellectual and Research creations of the Open University of Cyprus. The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), through its participation in the European project "Liaison Offices with the Labour Market", offers to students of all its programmes of study, the optional and free of charge Thematic Unit (i.e. Module) entitled "Industry Placement". This module provides students opportunities for a placement to gain professional experience in their particular field of study, and the hosting institution can be any public or private organisation operating in the Republic of Cyprus.
Each student has the right to participate in this offering once or twice during his / her studies, provided that s/he meets the required conditions.

The Faculty of Economics and Management Advisory Board (FEMAB)
The Faculty of Economics and Management Advisory Board (FEMAB) is composed of accomplished business leaders, senior executives, academics, educators, and entrepreneurs from various sectors of social and economic life in Cyprus, as well as academic personnel from the faculty of the Open University of Cyprus who hold significant leadership roles in research, education, and teaching. The primary purpose of FEMAB is to offer advisory and timely guidance to the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Open University of Cyprus.
This advisory board convenes on an annual basis and is led by the Dean of the Faculty if Economics and Management. Our current board roster features prominent individuals from both the public and private sectors. They actively engage in our meetings to ensure that our faculty remains aligned with the latest developments in the field of economics and management and responsive to industry demands.
Within the framework of its responsibilities, FEMAB conducts a comprehensive review of our curriculum offerings and provides advice, opinions, and guidelines regarding the research, educational, and social activities of the faculty. This oversight ensures that we not only maintain our established standards and strategic objectives but also guarantee that our programs incorporate the required skills and competencies demanded by the rapidly evolving landscape. It also contributes to promoting the faculty’s graduates and its work.
Moreover, the board plays a pivotal role in facilitating the faculty’s engagement with businesses and organizations. FEMAB actively assists us in cultivating and enhancing these crucial connections, fostering mutually beneficial relationships that advance our strategic objectives.
